Ibis Styles Mont Blanc

Geneva

This is the second of ICA’s Ibis Styles refurbishment projects in the city and is located close to the banks of Lake Geneva. Accor’s Ibis Styles brand demands a fun, fresh and humorous narrative for the interior design creating a unique product firmly grounded in the property’s location. This was especially challenging for the team given the first of ICA’s Styles in Geneva is just a short distance away near the Railway Station. However, our Team did some research and created a theme centering around one of Geneva’s most famous past residents Charlie Chaplin and his remarkable film ‘Modern Times’. The hotel reception is transformed into Charlie Chaplin’s funky time machine, a portal between the black and white past and the vibrant future. The project presented some challenges. Working remotely in the UK with only limited site visits, strict local building codes, and a tight programme were all managed with the minimum of fuss to ensure the project ran smoothly providing the Client with peace of mind. Site visits were managed by senior staff to ensure decisions were made swiftly and with confidence. Working alongside a local Architect, drawings, presentations and samples of materials were issued to the local building authorities to gain approval. A strong working relationship with the Project Manager and design team enabled the programme to be met. The Brand and Client are both delighted with the outcome. The finished product is a unique Hotel in one of Europe’s great cities designed by a team in Glasgow.
